Playing catch up/Thoughts in writing

It's been exactly 2 months since my last blog post.  I apologize (not that many people read my blog) for not keeping up.

Thanksgiving was great & enjoyed visiting with family.  Sorry, no pictures....I know that's sad! :-(

Christmas was great!  Presley got a my size Barbie from Santa! She was SOO excited!!
Kayden got a new shotgun, bow and pistol from Santa!  He said, he had to practice so he could go hunting with Daddy when he got older!

The kids had a good Christmas.
Eric and I cooked the Christmas meals this year and took it to my brothers house to eat since our home is sooo small.  Eric fried a turkey for us.  YUMMY!!!
It was great seeing my nieces and nephews (missed seeing my nephew Brandon, he was working).  I have 7 nieces and nephews.
Christmas supper was spent with Eric's cousin Rusty, wife Stacey and their two boys Tommy and Dusty.  We had a great visit!!

Tomorrow, I will celebrating 7 yrs with my best friend, my husband Eric!

We have been through A LOT in our earlier years of marriage, but thankfully we have fought hard for US and put GOD back into our lives and marriage.
Eric was my ROCK when my momma died only 3 months after we married.  I couldn't have made it through everything we had to go through without him!

I can't imagine my life without him in it!!  He has a heart of gold and is very protective of his family.

Yesterday, I read a little post from a church friend in light of our church loosing a wonderful servant of God's word and works for our youth, after a battle of ovarian cancer.  I was able to hear Janet Pate and her daughter speak at our Women's retreat earlier this year.  Even though I never had the chance to actually meet her, she encouraged me in so many ways as a mother and on my personal relationship with Jesus.....she even reminded me of my own mother.

The post I read talked about journaling and blogging to your children.  Not only writing down special activities/holidays or dates of special "firsts", but also showing them and expressing to them how much you love them but most importantly how much God loves them.  Take them through some of your challenges and some of your victories.  When they are older or if a day comes that God is calling you home a little earlier than you expected.  Your children will have something to look back on and read, something to go to when they miss their momma, a personal gift from you to him/her.  Oh, to have been able to have had something like that from my mother!!  I have had so many questions for my mom over the past 6 1/2 yrs.
The post expressed more, but this is just a small bit of what I got from it.  It really made me think and gave me ideas.
I may not have started journaling or blogging when my children where born, but I'm definetly starting now!!  I'm going to start a personal journal for both my kids to some day read.....hopefully, I will be the one to give it to them.

God poured out the Spirit on us freely because of what Jesus Christ our Savior has done. His grace made us right with God. So now we have received the hope of eternal life as God's children. (Titus 3:6, 7 NIRV)

Another month in the books

Wow, can you believe that the month of October is almost over? Not much longer till Christmas is here....YIKES!!

Kayden has been out of school for 2 weeks for Fall break.  He attends a "non-traditional" school, which simply means that he starts school earlier and finishes the school year later than the traditional schools (with a few extra breaks here and there).
He spent the first week with his Nannie and Pops.  He was able to help Nannie "work" at the Fordyce Animal Clinic.  Scott (aka Pops) is the town Vet.
He also got to help Pops drive the tractor and clear out some hunting lanes for deer season!  Needless to say, he had a blast and wasn't wanting to leave!

Eric, Presley Kaye and I drove down the next weekend.
This is PK on the way down to Fordyce!

The whole weekend was planned out for birthday parties, baby showers, picture taking and visiting with friends and family.  Unfortunately, the later part of visiting with friends didn't happen...I was hoping to see a couple of my friends while I was down, but it didn't work out.  I sure do miss them like crazy!!
                 My niece Leanna
Kayden, my niece Brianna & PK
Molly and baby Graceland's "coming home" outfit!!  We will see you soon sweet girl!!!
We are loaded up and ready to head back to NWA!!!  We have both kiddos, plus some decorations that Margaret gave me!

This past week, Kayden was able to go to work with me AND have a couple of days of fun at Character Kids.  CK is ran by an awesome team of ladies that run a preschool (DOCK)  and an after school program (Character Kids).  When the non-traditional students are out for break, they will entertain the kiddos so the parents can continue to work...for a small fee and it is totally worth every penny!!  On the two days Kayden was there, they went on a field trip to Chucky Cheese and Jump Zone!!

Wednesday night was AWANA's night and my lil man earned his wings and his first blue jewel!  I'm so proud of him!!

I'm normally a Sparks leader for a different group, but I was not there that night due to having a stomach bug.  I did have to pick the kids up, since Eric was working late.  I snuck in right before his name was called for his award....I'm so glad for that!!

This was my lunch the next day....UGH!!!

Later Thursday afternoon, Kayden had his first eye appt with his FAVORITE eye doctor, Dr. Bobby Decker (aka Mr. Bobby)!!  Mr. Bobby was Kayden's 1st cubbies leader at Awana's and is now his Sparks leader!  Both Kayden and Presley love him!   At this point, Kayden is a little farsighted and does not need to have glasses just yet.....which upsets him! Once he starts to read more or if we notice some problems (which ever comes first) then we will discuss the need for glasses.

Our weekend ended with an awesome Saturday night of fellowship with our SS class for a good ole scavenger hunt!!  Let me tell you, this was so much fun!!!  I have some great pictures, but Eric made me promise not to post them on the Internet! BOO!!!!

Here is a picture of my Gunn Crew!  The kids wanted to dress like daddy, so Camo it was!! :-)

Hope everyone has a great week!!!  Halloween is almost here!!!

Our weekend in review.....a little late! ;-)

Eric and I went to the razorback game on Saturday.  This was his first Razorback game in Fayetteville.

We had awesome seats thanks to my 2nd mom, Terri!!  It was awesome being able to watch from the stands instead of our living room.  Would've been better if we won.....but win or lose, we will still call those HOGS!

After the game, it was time for relaxing with Presley Kaye.  The only thing she wanted to do was have a snuggle day with mommy and watch Princess movies.....and that is what we did!
Sunday, we slept in  & missed church (on accident) so I started cleaning the house.  Sunday night is Presley's favorite....she loves choir & mission friends.
One thing that God has blessed me with is Mission Friends.  These little 4-5 yr old boys and girls are so much fun and definitely keep me on my toes!
My weekend may not be exciting to some, but for me it's great!
                Eric and his "little lamb"
Presley wanted to make for sure we had our stuffed animals with us.  So of course, her daddy had to make sure she was close by.   He had several people driving and pointing while we were going down the road!!!

The weekend is finally here!!!

I am so glad that the weekend is finally here!  Kayden attends year around school, so he has off the next 2 weeks for fall break.  He left this afternoon heading to Fordyce with his Nannie and Pops for a week.  I am going to miss my little man, but thankful he has some awesome grandparents!!

Presley attended a super hero birthday today at Jump Zone.  She wore her "Princess ballerina" costume and was changed to "Super hero ballerina".  She had a blast and I enjoyed talking to several moms from our church....outside of church!

           Happy Birthday Davis!!!

Tomorrow is homecoming at UofA & Eric and I get to go to the game!!!  I'm so excited!!!

           WOOOO PIG SOOIIEE!!!

Pumpkin patch & Fall Carnival

Yesterday I was able to take off yesterday morning and go with Presley on a field trip with her school at Farmland Animals in Springdale.
She got to feed baby goats

Learn about pumpkins (this is a            peanut pumpkin)

We got to see a Momma pig and her piglets!!

Presley Kaye had so much fun!!!

             We both had a blast!!

Tonight Kayden's school, R.E. Baker had their annual fall carnival tonight.  The kids had a blast!!!
My little Princess PK and the Black Ninja

Mimi/Granma was able to join us, which helped me out a lot while I worked Kayden's class cookie decorating booth!

Returning and obeying

I'M BACK!!!  I have been reading a lot of blogs from several people that I haven't officially met or never met.  It has really inspired me to try and keep up with my blog page, so I will have something to look back on and show my kids and grandkids.

Recently I have had several different "reminders" that have been placed before me, reminding me of this one particular that God is wanting me to do.....I'm going to be honest, I haven't been obedient in his request.
" 'Now obey me completely. Keep my covenant. If you do, then out of all of the nations you will be my special treasure. The whole earth is mine. (Exodus 19:5 NIRV)
I hope I will be able to share with you one day what God is wanting me to do, until then, will you please pray for me?
Tomorrow, I am going with PK to the pumpkin patch with her preschool class....can't wait to share pictures with you!!
